Why we built it
Video download pages are often difficult to navigate. They may mix download controls with unrelated advertisements, request unnecessary permissions, or hide basic information about how the service works. CyberVid takes a different approach: the download form is the primary interface, the surrounding content explains the tool honestly, and legal and privacy information is reachable from every page.
What CyberVid does
When you submit a supported public TikTok URL, our website validates the URL and sends it to a server-side processing service. That service attempts to retrieve an available video source from its configured providers. If a source is returned, CyberVid presents the link to you. If the upstream service rejects or cannot read the video, the site returns an error instead of pretending a download succeeded.
What CyberVid does not do
CyberVid does not ask for your TikTok password, does not unlock private accounts, and does not grant any rights over a creator’s work. We do not claim ownership of videos processed through the tool. Users are responsible for ensuring they have permission or another lawful basis to save and use a video.
Our design principles
- Clarity: important actions should look like actions, and advertisements should never be disguised as download buttons.
- Privacy: collect only what is reasonably needed to operate and secure the service, and explain third-party technologies in the Privacy Policy.
- Responsible use: make copyright and authorization expectations visible instead of hiding them in small print.
- Reliability: handle upstream failures honestly and keep the interface useful even when a provider is temporarily unavailable.
